Language Education (Cantonese and Putonghua)

The Yale-China Chinese Language Academy (CLA) provides language training in Cantonese and Putonghua to CUHK students. It offers two types of credit-bearing courses: one is knowledge-based courses taught in English, and the other is designed to improve the language proficiency in Cantonese and Putonghua of students. According to one’s learning purpose and language background, language proficiency courses are sub-divided into: (1) Cantonese for Putonghua-speaking students; (2) Cantonese for international students; (3) Putonghua for local students; and (4) Putonghua for international students. In addition, CLA also offers non-credit-bearing Cantonese courses to CUHK students. Programme Learning Outcomes can be found at the website of the Yale-China Chinese Language Academy . |
