Data Analytics and Informatics

Minor Programme Requirement

 

Students are required to complete a minimum of 18 units of courses, with at least 6 units at 3000 or above level, as follows:

Explanatory Notes:

[a]

Non-engineering students who wish to use other courses to substitute the required courses will have to seek approval from the Programme Director.

ENGG2430 is for students majoring in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Energy and Environmental Engineering, Mechanical and Automation Engineering, Mathematics and Information Engineering.  ENGG2450 is for students majoring in Biomedical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Financial Technology, Systems Engineering and Engineering Management.  ENGG2470 is for students majoring in Information Engineering.  Students of other Major programmes can choose either ENGG2430 or ENGG2450.

ENGG2430, 2450 and 2470 will be offered for the last time in 2019-20.  New courses will be introduced to replace these three courses with effect from 2020-21.

ESTR courses are developed based on ordinary engineering courses with additional course materials and challenging assessments.  The courses are only applicable to students of the ELITE stream, who can choose a combination of the ESTR courses or the equivalent courses listed in the curriculum to fulfill the minor programme requirements.

ESTR2002, 2005 and 2012 will be offered for the last time in 2019-20.  New ESTR courses will be introduced to replace these three courses with effect from 2020-21.
